Beautiful pics. I love sunsets. It was so great to see you. I was telling my Dad later how much fun I had. I told him how amazed I was, that after six years, and only seeing each other a few times, you can still be such close friends with someone. I feel that's a mark of a true friend. You can go years without seeing one another, and still have total confidence and genuine love and concern for them, and visit forever. That's how I feel about you Heather. I just love you. Thanks again for making time to get together. I had a blast.
Thought I'd pop over and thank you for your kind comment. Don't mind me, just blurking around your site a bit. Love your side bar quotes - your my kinda gal!
As evidenced by this blog, I'm quite dramatic. However, most of my drama is all in good fun. I'm generally good about taking in stride those things that really matter. Even when I screw up (which is often), there is nothing else that matters more to me than the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all of its teachings.
Oh, and I like to use parentheses. (A lot.)
I love profound and inspiring quotes. As I come across those that strike me, I'll post them here. If you have some that you think I would enjoy, feel free to email me.
"We do not always receive inspiration when we request it. Sometimes we are delayed in receiving revelation, and sometimes we are left to our own judgment and understanding based on study and reason. We cannot force spiritual things. It must be so. Our life's purpose to obtain experience and to develop faith would be frustrated if our Heavenly Father enlightened us immediately on every question or directed us in every act. We must reach conclusions and make decisions and experience the consequences in order to develop self-reliance and faith. Even in decisions we think very important, we sometimes receive no answers to our prayers. This does not mean our prayers have not been heard. It only means we have prayed about a decision that, for one cause or another, we should make without guidance by revelation." - Dallin H. Oaks. "The issue for us is trusting God enough to trust also His timing. If we can truly believe He has our welfare at heart, may we not let His plans unfold as He thinks best? The same is true with the second coming and with all those matters wherein our faith needs to include faith in the Lord's timing for us personally, not just in His overall plans and purposes." - Neal A. Maxwell
"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers." - Gordon B. Hinckley
"If pain and sorrow and total punishment immediately followed the doing of evil, no soul would repeat a misdeed. If joy and peace and rewards were instantaneously given the doer of good, there could be no evil--all would do good and not because of the rightness of doing good. There would be no test of strength, no development of character, no growth of powers, no free agency. . . . There would also be an absence of joy, success, resurrection, eternal life, and godhood." - Spencer W. Kimball
"To share often and much...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Do not procrastinate. Someone has said that procrastination is the thief of time. Actually, procrastination is much more. It is the thief of our self-respect. It nags at us and spoils our fun. It deprives us of the fullest realization of our ambitions and hopes." - Thomas S. Monson
"Prayer is your personal key to heaven. The lock is on your side of the veil." - Boyd K. Packer
"Patience is tied very closely to faith in our Heavenly Father. Actually, when we are unduly impatient, we are suggesting that we know what is best -- better than does God. Or, at least, we are asserting that our timetable is better than His." - Neal A. Maxwell
"There are times when you are fearful, when the stress and busyness of life seem to overwhelm you, when you feel adrift from the Spirit. Perhaps you even feel as though you have been abandoned. When I encounter those feelings, the best antidote is my memory of the moments when Christ's peace has come to strengthen me. . . . I invite you to remember with me what it is to feel the Lord's love in your life and to feel encircled in His arms." - Kathleen H. Hughes
"If what you're doing doesn't have eternal consequences, why are you doing it?" - Glenn Beck, paraphrasing Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” - Aristotle
