Oh yeah. We went on a honeymoon.

On the plane to Cancun.  Thanks, Josh, for always being willing to take stunning pictures.

Have you ever been to Cancun?  We wanted a beach destination and figured that Cancun was the cheap, faster version of Hawaii, so that's what we chose.  I have to be honest, though, I still kind of thought it'd be a little...well....Mexico-y.  Don't get me wrong, I love Mexico, but ya know what I mean, right?

Anyway.

Good news.  Cancun is not really Mexico-y at all!  Well, except for the vendors who yell at you, "Hey..ees my turn," and "Free beer!" as they try to entice you into their shops.

(Could this post be any less politically correct?)

Josh and I have both been to beaches all over the world, but I have to tell you, Cancun ranks right up there as one of the most beautiful.  The water was the most beautiful shade of turquoise-ish blue I've ever seen, and it was so so clear.  The white sand beaches were clean, crisp, and inviting, and the temperature of the water was PERFECT.  I'm telling you, it was body temperature.  It actually felt better than the pool water.

Because Cancun is, like I said, the cheaper version of Hawaii, we got to upgrade to one of the nicest rooms in the hotel, the Royal Tower (OOoooOOooo!), that was right on the beach.  Here is the view from our balcony:

No joke, people.  That was taken with my point-and-shoot Canon, and you know that beauty was not exaggerated by my photography skills. (HAH!)

Here's a glimpse of our room:

And this is our in-room huge jacuzzi.  That open window space thing?  It has an electronically retractable screen.

It was seriously awesome.

(Is it okay to brag this much?  I'm hoping you'll let it slide since a honeymoon is supposed to be amazing, yes?)

This is a view of our hotel from a little restaurant we had lunch in:

Our room was in the building on the left.

In this restaurant, I wanted to get a cute picture of Josh and me.  This is when Josh decided it was a good idea to let me know what I'd gotten myself into for the rest of my life.

Attempt 3:

"Seriously?":

But let's be honest - clearly I couldn't have expected the picture to be too cute since I was wet haired and in a swimsuit with runny makeup.  Attractive!

Seriously right? It's the best! I have 24 more days, and then I am there.

And yes, the street vendors are annoying. Last time I totally refused to go to the mercado. I don't want their flea market junk that bad : )

I've never been to Cancun, but this made me want to consider it for our next vacation. Seriously.

And I know EXACTLY how you feel when it comes to taking pictures of your husband. Get used to it. I don't think I have a single good picture of Steve since our wedding. Sigh.
