Let me introduce you to my brother-in-law, Cody.
This is his current profile picture on facebook. Classic Cody.
He's a Sergeant First Class in the Army, and is currently in Iraq on his second deployment. This guy is hilarious, and is one of the only people in the family who I can always count on to be a freak with me. He recently posted some pictures on facebook from Iraq that I thought just needed to be shared. Really, these pictures are the best way for you to get to know Cody better.
The caption Cody wrote beneath this photo: "Self explanatory (especially after beans and enchilada night at the chow hall)."
Hahahaha! Again - classic. (I still laugh every time I see that picture.)
"What the hell am I contemplating?"
It was the caption on this picture that got me. Can we all agree that a well-placed swear is sometimes just hilarious? Maybe it's just me...
Here's Cody on a burned-out Iraqi tank:
"Me and my 'Big Gun'."
Cody's awesome response: "You mean 'F' for 'FABULOUS?!'"
Cody, to me, is the perfect blend of total crass ridiculousness combined with a completely beautiful heart. The guy can make anyone feel special, and can make friends anywhere, in any situation. Case in point:

Here he is with two Iraqi soldiers about to go out on mission. Maybe I'm just cheesy, but this photo really touched me.
They recently had a mission where they delivered school supplies to children alongside soldiers from the Iraqi army, and this is a photo Cody posted of him with one of the kids:
The caption for this one?
"A new friend and I."
I loved that. That sort of attitude truly demonstrates what I was talking about when I said he has a beautiful heart.
Here he is with another Iraqi soldier who I'm sure he now considers a friend.
And here he is teaching an Iraqi kid how to fist bump.
I seriously love and admire this guy. He's been a member of my family for almost 15 years, and had a wonderful impact on me growing up. I'm grateful for his willingness to sacrifice so much to do what he feels is right, and I especially love his patriotism.
Come home soon, Cody.

I love how he is standing on his tip toes so that his butt is just in the right place. Awesome.
I don't think I have to even tell you how much I love this post!
And Cody
And you!
I love their sense of humor even when in the middle of hell.
xoxoxo
love you. love that you're back. love these pics! MUH!
Heather, it's funny because I saw your other two comments first and I told Jeff, "Hey, we should invite them over for dinner sometime! We could all talk about real estate and Heather could meet the puppy!" It would be great fun.
And then I saw your other comment. We should totally be friends in real life who do stuff!
Aww this is a sweet post and how funny is that picture "test fire area" hahaha.
